Roy O. Kuhnert

	Roy O. Kuhnert, age 82, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2004 at his residence.
	Mr. Kuhnert was born on October 6, 1921 in Pinckneyville, a son of Herman and Retta Belle (Glover) Kuhnert.  He was united in marriage to Anna Marie Young on June 14, 1952 in Mississippi and she survives.  He served in the United States Navy during World War II.  During his lifetime, he worked as a farmer, a fuel truck driver for FS and also a coal miner at Captain Mine.  Roy was a member of the UMWA #1392, the Farm Bureau and First Baptist Church of Pinckneyville.  He loved hunting and fishing.
	Survivors include his wife, Anna of Pinckneyville; one daughter, Nancy Kuhnert of Carmi; one brother, Robert L. Kuhnert and wife Janice of Steeleville; three sisters, Lois V. Morgenstern and husband Karl of Elkville, Roberta F. Edgar and husband John of Ava and Melba Jean Bouas and husband Maury of Maryville, Mo.; one brother-in-law, Joe Beckman and wife Ann of St. Ann, Mo. and one sister-in-law, Virginia Kuhnert of Ava.
	Roy was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Eric Kuhnert; two brothers, Carl A. and Melvin D. Kuhnert and two sisters, Belle Beckman and Alberta M. Kuhnert.
	Family funeral services were Tuesday morning, June 1, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville with Reverend Paul Holder officiating.  Interment was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery.
	Family visitation was on Tuesday morning at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until services.
	The family wishes that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Nine Mile Food Pantry or Luke Memorial Hospice.
